Hope you all had a very good turkey day (if you’re here in the States) and are having a safe Black Friday (an unofficial holiday I’ll never understand, but then I don’t like shopping or large groups of commerce-driven people). If you’re not in the States, I hope you had a marvelous Thursday. Count your blessings.
No, seriously. I know it’s a funny old White Christmas song, but try it out. Start with the really basic stuff, like being able to move all of the joints in your fingers (if you can’t, go with the marvels of the human eye and the modern technology that enables you to read this). Or perhaps think of how incredible the color green can be.
Work your way up. See where it takes you.
And remember that blessings are not a way to say that nothing is wrong. If you had a crap Thanksgiving or a terrible Thursday, allow that to be what it was. Then remember that that day is over, and it was true, but so is the incredible color green, and God holds them both for us so that we can see green even on the Thanksgivings when we feel less than thankful.
I am thankful for you, plucky Reader. You are a blessing.
I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints[.] (Eph. 1:16–18, ESV)
